It was one fine evening during the winter holiday.

The boys of the So-Zam family cleaning the vehicle filled with mud from the previous night’s fishing trip. Playing in the background John Denver’s “Take me home, Country Road” and singing along, not regretting a moment of last night though the car wash was giving them backache. The girls finish the kitchen chores while simultaneously on about feminism and parallels of housework.
Our Story
Well, its holiday season and the Mother of the family left no stone unturned to celebrate each meal with a feast.
The evening got better with the bond fire and Khangkhui theira (an authentic Naga fruit juice for digestion) after the feast where all the So-Zam family gathered together and broke off their colloquy.

The conversation started with the struggles to failures in life to education to life after marriage to all variation of experiences. What came out as the common interest of 'giving' back to the community made its way to the conversation.

The winter, that particular year, in Marou was quite chilled , the rounds of refilling green tea continued and discussion was manifested from this evening on .

On 18th February 2019, So-Zam Orphanage & Youth Development Organisation was registered under Registration of Societies under Govt. of Manipur and it’s never turning back since then.
We plan for execution of sponsoring children for education, giving priority to the orphans and providing skill development/opportunities to the youth to self-sustenance.
